Guaranteed Scholarships from Morris College
Several automatic scholarships are available to first-year college students based on their high school class rank. Students who attend a non-ranking high school or who are home schooled will be judged on separate criteria. These guaranteed scholarships from Morris college are renewable for four years, provided the student maintains a 2.5 GPA.
Morris College is located in Sumter, South Carolina and is a four-year private liberal arts college. The school was first founded in 1908 as a grade school and later became a high school and eventually a college. The college offers bachelor’s degrees in 20 areas of study.
Students who graduate in the top 5% of their graduating class will be eligible to receive the Chancellor’s Scholarship. This scholarship has a value of $14,000; or $3,500 per year over four years. Students who graduate in the top 10% of their class will be eligible for the Dean’s Scholarship. This scholarship has a value of $10,000; which is awarded at a rate of $2,500 per year over a period of four years. Those students graduating in the top 20% of their classes will be eligible for the Associate Scholarship. This scholarship has a value of $4,000; or $1,000 per year for four years.
There are no additional applications necessary to receive these Morris guaranteed scholarships. The admissions committee will award these automatic scholarships following a review of a student’s academic credentials, which are submitted at the time of admission.
Along with these Morris guaranteed scholarships, students who are National Merit Scholars will also be eligible to receive National Merit Scholarships. The amount of these automatic scholarships varies based on whether the student is a winner, semi-finalist or commended status and range from full tuition to $4,000 over the course of four years. Morris college guaranteed scholarships are renewable for up to four years.
